Abayomi Okubote is a dual-qualified lawyer with experience in business and commercial law, Arbitration & ADR, labour and employment law, human rights, immigration law, family law, real estate and manages the firm’s Africa Practice. With over 15 years of experience at the Nigerian Bar and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, Abayomi has advised a wide range of clients — from individuals to multinational corporations — on complex commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and market entry strategies. He brings a unique blend of legal acumen and business strategy to every matter he handles.

Aside his transactional experience, he has also acted as counsel in several arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, CRCICA, and UNCITRAL Rules, and has served as arbitrator in several disputes. He has supported various African governments on regulatory and dispute-related projects in countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Malawi, and currently sits on the panels of leading arbitral institutions including CRCICA, NCIA, KIAC, and LACIAC.

Prior to forming the partnership at Rosebridge, Abayomi spent nearly a decade at Olaniwun Ajayi LP, one of Africa’s most prestigious law firms, where he led teams on complex commercial and dispute resolution mandates. He also gained international experience during his time at Baker McKenzie LLP in London. Beyond his legal practice, Abayomi is committed to legal education. He has served as an adjunct professor in Canada and the United Kingdom, teaching courses in employment law, business law, international arbitration, and equity, diversity & inclusion. He also leads the management team of the Africa Arbitration Academy.

Abayomi is an alumnus of Queen’s University (Canada), University College London (UK), the Harvard Negotiation Institute (United States), the ICC Summer School, and the Paris Arbitration Academy.
